Alyson started working at the Shore Vet Centre in 1993 after leaving school. She qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2000 from Edinburgh’s Telford College. Alyson’s love of animals began at a very young age all thanks to her Mum. They were known as the family who would take in all the waifs and strays, including Sammy the tortoise, Tuesday the ex-battery hen and Friday the black Labrador just to name a few.
Coming home from school was always filled with excitement at the prospect of a new addition! Alyson lives in Gourock with her husband John and son Murray, along with a tortoiseshell cat and three guinea pigs. Alyson has a keen interest in small animal health and welfare. She enjoys visiting local schools, nurseries and organisations to give an insight into her job, as well as introducing children to her guinea pigs. In her spare time, Alyson enjoys eating out in her home town of Glasgow and socialising with her friends.
